Academic Achievement Award |
Your gift to
the Academic Achievement Award Fund supports cash awards presented to the two
graduates, earning their first bachelor's degrees, who have achieved the
highest level of academic excellence at the University. The Academic
Excellence Award acknowledges the self-discipline and great effort, as well
as the dedication and zeal required to achieve the highest in academic
excellence. |
|
Annual Fund |
The Annual Fund is the University's general operating
fund that provides gift income over and above revenues received from
tuition, student fees and endowment earnings. Through the Annual
Fund initiative employees, students, and other friends of the
University come together to make a difference in the quality of
education and service the University provides. Your annual gifts,
combined with those of others, can make a significant impact on
students' education. |
Campus Development
(capital projects) |
The practical need of a growing university and
limited existing space necessitate the development of a campus for
LU use. As LU operations expand there are several properties
adjacent to the church’s existing site that could provide needed
space and provide the campus environment for a small residential
student body through the acquisition and renovation process. Having
the university campus in close proximity to the church headquarters
would facilitate student work study jobs and and the communications
process. Your gift for campus development, which includes site,
buildings, and equipment, will help bring this goal into reality. |

Endowed
Scholarships |
You can support the education of our students through
the creation of an endowed scholarship named in your honor, or in
honor or memory of a friend or loved one. Endowed scholarships
provide donors the opportunity to establish a timeless fund that
directly supports our students with financial need. Endowed
scholarships are permanent and grow in value each year. They provide
a perpetual source of financial aid for students, as well as
permanently honoring the person for whom the endowment is named. An
endowed scholarship is a permanently invested fund that provides an
ongoing source of scholarship assistance to deserving students. The
gift is invested to achieve returns that provide for both current
scholarship assistance and longer term growth to protect against
inflation. Your gift of $500 will create an endowed scholarship
fund. Once total gifts to that fund have exceeded $10,000, the
University will activate the scholarship and begin issuing
scholarship awards to students annually. Your scholarship gift can
be designated for general purposes (e.g., awarded to “a deserving
student”), on the basis of need, or to support a particular
characteristic or specific interest. |

Herbert W. Armstrong
Excellence Award |
You gift to the Herbert W. Armstrong Excellence
Award Fund supports the highest award made to graduating students at
Living University. This is the highest award recognition by the
University upon an undergraduate student. The Herbert W. Armstrong
Excellence Award, consisting of a ribboned medal bearing his
likeness and a cash award, is conferred annually at Commencement
Exercises in May to the two outstanding baccalaureate degree
candidates exemplifying “the pursuit of excellence.” Herbert W.
Armstrong was a man of quality, excellence, dedication and balance.
He was equally at home with scholars, musicians, athletes, diplomats
and royalty. His versatility gives meaning to this award—“in the
pursuit of excellence.” |

Honor With Books Gift
|
The Honor With Books Program provides a meaningful way to celebrate a
special person in your life while making an important contribution to Living
University’s library collection. For every donation of $100 or more
directed to Honor With Books, a personalized bookplate will be affixed to the
inside front cover of a newly acquired volume in the Living University Libraries
collection. An acknowledgment card is
mailed to the honoree or the family of the deceased.
Please include with your
Honor With Books Gift
the honoree’s name and address, so that the University can notify that person of
your thoughtfulness. In the case of a deceased honoree, please also include the
name(s) and address of the family member(s) to whom you would like an
acknowledgement sent, as well as their relationship to the deceased. |
|
Memorial Gift
|
Honor the life of someone special by making a Memorial Gift.
The University notifies the honoree and/or the family when such a gift has been
made, if we have the information (including notification information with your
donation is always helpful). The notification letter includes a donor’s name and
address, but not the gift amount. Unless otherwise noted by the donor, honoree
or family of the deceased, memorial gifts are designated to the Annual Fund. A popular alternative, our general
scholarship fund assists students with demonstrated need. When you make a Memorial Gift, Living University sends a card
to the honoree’s family which notifies them of the gift. The gift is also
acknowledged in the President's Annual Report. Please include with your gift the honoree’s name
and address, so that the University can notify that person of your
thoughtfulness. In the case of a deceased honoree, please also include the
name(s) and address of the family member(s) to whom you would like an
acknowledgement sent, as well as their relationship to the deceased. |
Student Financial Aid
(scholarships & work study) |
Even with relatively low tuition and other charges,
the cost of a college and university education can be a financial
burden. The primary purpose of financial aid is to provide financial
assistance to Living University students who, without such aid,
would be unable to attend the University. |
|
Tribute Gift
|
Celebrate a special occasion or accomplishment of
a family member, friend or colleague by making a Tribute Gift. Unless otherwise
noted by the donor, honoree or family of the deceased, tribute gifts are
designated to the Annual Fund. A
popular alternative, our general scholarship fund assists students with
demonstrated need. When you make a
Tribute Gift, Living University sends a card to the honoree that notifies him or
her of the gift. When the University receives a gift in tribute, we immediately
notify the honoree. Gift amounts are not disclosed. In addition all gifts,
regardless of size, are acknowledged in the President's
Annual Report. Please include with your gift the honoree’s name
and address, so that the University can notify that person of your
thoughtfulness. In the case of a deceased honoree, please also include the
name(s) and address of the family member(s) to whom you would like an
acknowledgement sent, as well as their relationship to the deceased. |

University
Endowment |
Endowed gifts provide Living University with a
permanent source of income and provide for long-term institutional
stability. The donations added to the University Endowment Fund and
are invested in perpetuity. The principal is not reduced and the
interest earned is withdrawn annually and added to the University's
revenues. A portion of annual earnings will be reinvested in the
endowment, so the University will have a perpetual source of funding
that will increase over time as the endowment grows with the
addition of new gifts. The income from the University Endowment Fund
is purposed to underwrite essential program and operating costs,
such as scholarships and salaries, which help to keep tuition
increases in check. |

University Library
|
Your gifts to the University Library help meet the
Library's current priority needs in many areas. Your gifts help us
fulfill the Library's mission and provide the best access to the
resources needed by Living University students and faculty. These
gifts support a variety of activities, such as the acquisition of
library materials, the expansion of library facilities, cataloging
and processing materials, and additional hours of operation. We
welcome gifts of any size to the University Library. |
